The Things I Hate - Statement

The Things I Hate wishes to clear the air. Earlier in the day we published a review of 'Puberty forums' due to overwhelming support but as much criticism we have been forced to take action. The action that we decided upon was to delete said review. The Things I Hate wishes to make clear that everything that was in the entry was completely correct however due to wider unrest the entry had to be pulled. No other part of the blog was affected and all posts bar said one have not been edited in any way. Also we have decided that the task of having a rating for 'Puberty forums' is also correct however we will not be doing this ourselves and we have left the matter in more than capable hands.

Harry Redknapp

On the blog we published a post about a Scottish man, and a American man. Now moving onto a Englishman. In England the favourite sport is football which Americans call soccer. Anyway like Alex Ferguson a manager a guy that has been in football for what seems like forever. It's Harry Redknapp.

Harry Redknapp is a former footballer who has had a long and illustrious career in football. He is currently the manger of English Premier League team Portsmouth. He has a son Jamie Redknapp who also played football. He is a uncle to the popular Englishman Frank Lampard. He won Portsmouth the FA Cup in 2008. This was his first real taste of glory.

Redknapp was born in London in 1947. He supported Arsenal as a boy his father used to sneak him in under the turnstiles. He came through the youth set up at West Ham to become a footballer. He was a pacy winger. He signed terms on his 17th birthday and made 150 appearances scoring a total of 8 goals. In 1972 he was prized away from London by Bournemouth he spent a total of four years at the club making over 100 appearances. He was bought by Brentford in 1976 and had a brief spell as assistant manager in the North American Soccer League which is now defunct he worked for the Seattle Sounders and yes that is a defunct club as well.

He's managed Bournemouth [former club].
West Ham United [former club].
Portsmouth First spell.
Southampton, Portsmouth's rivals.
Portsmouth current.

I think it's obvious by now that Redknapp is not a very respectable man. OK let's look at his first spell in management.

Redknapp took up his major job at Bournemouth he was fresh faced and new to the scene. When Bournemouth went into Division 3 Redknapp was charged with getting them out of that place. He failed to achieve the aim set out though and only just survived relegation.  There was some joy for the new boy though as they cooked up a stir in the Cup.

In 1990 Redknapp watched the World Cup being held in Italy. After this Redknapp crashed his car into a Bournemouth director instantly killing the man. Redknapp also was hurt and now cannot smell. In 1992 he quit the club as the finances had been very poor.

OK so in his first job he avoided relegation when he supposed to get them promoted so he failed at that. He killed someone in 1990 and then quit the club two years later after not developing the club at all. Let's look at his next spell.

In 1998 West Ham finished in eighth he had also created the academy bringing through players such as - Rio Ferdiand - Man Utd, Michael Carrick - Man Utd, Joe Cole - Chelsea their current clubs. However Redknapp failed at several signings he brought in - Marco Boogers, Florain Raduciou. West Ham won the Intertoto cup while Redknapp was at the club. Redkanpp left the club in 2001 with one game remaining of the season. For sometime it had been unclear wether he resigned or had been sacked. Redknapp later confirmed he had been sacked.

So West Ham failed to match their previous season. However he did win the Intertoto meaning that the club qualified for the UEFA Cup. However he made huge mistakes in the transfer market so again not a great manager yet.

In 2001 Redknapp joined Portsmouth as a director. After the club's poor form he replaced the manager. Redknapp won the team the Championship. Redknapp left the club in 2004 to manage rival club Southampton.

Redknapp failed to keep the Saints in the Premier League. Redkanpp was unhappy at every club with what the respective chairmen had been doing behind his back. So in 2005 Redknapp quit the club.

Bloody hell has the guy not annoyed you yet I'm just typing this but he's already annoying me. I never liked him but I never knew there would be so much to hate. Let's recap:

. FAILED AT BOURNEMOUTH
. AVERAGE AT WEST HAM
. AVERAGE AT PORTSMOUTH [FIRST SPELL]
. FAILED AT SOUTHAMPTON.

OK so what did he do next? In 2005 he rejoined Portsmouth it looked as though another failure was looming for Redknapp as his team went into the relegation zone. However after unbelievable form and some fantastic signings he got his club on a even keel and destroyed threats of relegation. The next season he guided them to ninth place. In 2007 he signed a long term contract. In 2008 he was offered the vacant mangers role at Newcastle but he declined the offer.

So there you go that's it on Harry Redkanpp. I think somewhat after reading this if you thought Redknapp was alright you know now that he is not.

Thanks for reading,

Bad guys win good guys lose, why?

Why is it that in action films an example being Batman that for the majority of the movie etc the bad guy is always on top that is to say he is always winning. It is true that to win you must first have lost a battle but it seems consistent that even though the good guy might accomplish the thing he set out to do he never gets a chance to extract revenge.

Take Batman for instance he said he was not a good guy but not a bad guy so that makes him a  imbetweener he said that himself if that's the case he's not a good guy why did he not finish 'the Joker' of?

Bad guys always seem to win because their tactics are more thought out than those on the side of good. The idea's of the good are spontaneous.

To be a good guy there is always a set of rules that you must obey, a example perhaps?
. Always accept the surrender of the villain and do not harm them in any way.
. Never beat anyone despite your personal feelings.
. Never cause problems when there is a risk of a bystander being hurt.
. Never subject your counterpart to torture.

I'm going to go back to Batman again and point out some examples. I believe it was 'the Joker' who said that if your a good guy you obey rules being a bad guy you can do whatever whenever never caring.

I would love to see a TV programme, film, book etc whatever have the good guy lose once as he must but after that let the good guy win let the good guy destroy the bad.

I think that, that would be a really good TV watch film watch because no one wants to see a film of pure evil.

Funny joke about EVIL | E = Every, V = Villain, I = Is, L = Lemons.
Yes perhaps a bit childish. Until next time.

Heath Ledger's performance in Batman

I had great expectations when I visited the cinema on Thursday night to watch the newest performance of Batman: The Dark Knight. I was told Heath Ledger's performance in the role as the villain 'the Joker' was outstanding and that he deserved a OSCAR nomination.

Heath Ledger's previous roles include: Brokeback Mountain, A Knight's Tale, The Patriot so as you can see he was a very accomplished very finished actor. While trying to give the best performance of his life in the Batman film Heath found it difficult to sleep. He took sleeping pills to relax him however he took a overdose which killed the actor.

As for the film itself I'd say it was OKAY I don't know if the media watched a different film maybe they did but I thought it was very average. I thought the acting was utterly terrible and that went for the plot as well the whole film for me was a complete disaster no less. With all the special affects that you can do today Batman made no attempt to use this facility which made the film boring. They also over developed some of the characters.

On Tuesday night waiting for a train an American couple broke the silent station halls. In departures room televisions had been running the story about Heath Ledger. The headline read 'Calls for Heath Ledger to get a OSCAR nomination' one of the Americans commented "What? He's going to get a OSCAR, just for dying?"

Yes it was crass and horrid but perhaps he has a point Ledger's acting was not amazing it was no different to any of the others that have played Batman's enemy 'the Joker' yet he's having calls for a OSCAR? Personally Oscar's for me are stupid it's just a case of giving film stars a chance to party but they are to shallow to know that the Oscar's is really just a pointless event.

I do honestly believe that if Ledger was alive today there would be no calls for a Oscar and I don't think we should feel sorry for him just because he's died we should judge him on his acting. Fact is his acting was average no better no worse. Is the guy worthy of a Oscar? No. Is a Oscar stupid? Yes. Would it be a compliment to him outside of the spotlight would anyone care? No.

I obviously can't go through the whole movie but I'm going to skip to the final 30 Min's or so. They introduced the character Two-Face they did not really need to go on to his character but they did and I don't think it worked. The final 30 Min's were a complete bore. The ending of the film was very questionable both Batman and Two- Face fell down scaffolding although the height they fell from was not mightily high and it was about the same height from which they dropped a crime boss and he just had a broke ankle. Batman survived that was made clear. But the former Harvey Dent just lay there. I presumed he was dead as he fell on his head, Batman fell on his back.

Thanks,

Alex Ferguson

Alex Ferguson born Alexander Chapman "Alex" Ferguson born in Govan, Glasgow. He is a Scottish football manager and formerly a player, currently managing Manchester United, he has overseen 1,000+ matches for the team. Considered by his peers to be one of the best managers in world football he has won more trophies than any other manager in England.

Yup that's great or so the press would have you think. His team is the most disliked football team in the country and is so arrogant he demands the press and his players call him the title of 'Sir' which he was awarded in 1999 for his services to football and he is included in the England Football Hall of Fame. Three out of six of the football managers in this group are Scottish. Out of interest there is no English inductee in the Scotland Football Hall of Fame.  It makes me laugh he was awarded a honor for services to football in his playing career he totaled 327 appearances out of which 127 were as a sub. As a manager he had early failure at Aberdeen and his European glory has been minimal.

His title seems to be based on the fact that he has held the throne at United for so long. That has nothing to do with Ferguson United have always been a force since created. His treble winning season included a host of player who had been boosted from the youth team. Ferguson did not oversee the developments of a young Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham et al he left that to his other managerial partners.

United's glory is not a testament to Ferguson but it is a testament to United. A good manager can cope on a weak budget but Ferguson failed at Aberdeen on a small budget.

Just a few weeks ago Ferguson and his crew had complained to FIFA about how R. Madrid had been handling the Ronaldo affair and Ferguson claimed it was dirty tactics even though he himself had used a similar plan to lure players to United. Then this week it was confirmed that Benitez and Ferguson had tapped up Keane and Berbatov respectively and that Spurs would be filling a dossier against the teams. This was to much for Fergsuon who claimed if Spurs chairmen Daniel Levy did file the dossier then he'd counter sue the Tottenham board understandably this had footie fans up and down the country in hysterics.

Fergsuon is obviously not modest and is a very arrogant person otherwise he would have declined the honor. Most people his age would be looking forward to retirement and I pray that's what the old git will do.

Here's hoping: iNath.
